Athletic Injuries

Athletic injuries are a wide spectrum of injuries which can happen to any area of the body depending on the sport.  Some of the most common athletic injuries chiropractors see are shoulder injuries in the athlete who has to use their upper extremity in competition.  Baseball players, swimmers, football players all are at risk to experience shoulder injuries due to the repetitive nature of their sport.  Hip, knee, and ankle pain are also common in the athletic population who have to sprint, run, and cut in a direction.  These actions put a great deal of stress on the joints which can damage its tissues.  Despite the wide and varying nature of athletic injuries, chiropractors are equipped with all the tools to treat any ailment the athlete experiences.  In treating athletes we not only reduce the pain but increase their function to allow them to compete at a higher level.
